Mark Dawson
Director
After an a 8 year career working for Bovis Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Group, Mark Dawson founded CMS in 2020. Up until that point Mark had handled complex project management for these large-scale developers creating a reputation for being a genuine problem solver, a quality that he has continued with since opening CMS Group.
Before joining Bovis Homes, Mark ran a decorating business which followed a stint in manufacturing at Plessey, a role he took on after an early professional football career came to an end.
Mark runs CMS Group as a family business from their office in Queen Anne’s Battery, Plymouth, which has to be one of the best views in the city. He still enjoys football although watches more than plays now.

Bobby Cox
Head Operations Manager
As Head Operations Manager, Bobby Cox is responsible for moving the business forward alongside Mark.
Growing up in the Midlands, Bobby’s early career was as a qualified plasterer before moving into carpentry. However, it was the pub industry that changed Bobby’s career, not behind the bar but renovating pubs and hotels across the country for a series of major pub chains and breweries. He even managed a to work on the Channel Tunnel project for a period of time which demonstrates that he understands complex projects.
It’s Bobby’s aim and objective to support CMS Group into becoming a major player in the maintenance market, not just in Plymouth but across the wider South-West and beyond.

Sarah Dawson
Office Manager
CMS Group simply wouldn’t run without Sarah Dawson, it’s her that keeps everything organised and in order. She knows exactly what it takes to run a family business having been involved in her own parent’s business for a decent period of time before joining CMS Group.
Sarah oversees all logistics and makes sure that the team delivers against the brief and agreed workload. She also manages one of the specific ops teams herself for one of CMS Group’s major clients.
Sarah’s involvement with CMS Group is a reflection of the success of the business. As it grew, it needed someone to manage the day-to-day administration of the business and who better to trust than your own wife who just happened to have the necessary skills to do the job perfectly.

Hollie Smith
Finance Officer
Every successful business always has one eye on the finances and at CMS Group, that’s Hollie Smith’s responsibility. She joined the business in 2022 while obtaining her business degree at the University of Plymouth, graduating in 2023 and she now oversees all the company’s finances.
Hollie handles credit control, tracks spending and budgets, reconciles the bank accounts, deals with all day-to-day financial issues as well as several operational elements such as fleet management.
In simple terms, she has one of the most important roles at CMS Group … she is the ‘money’.

… and Luna too!
